We had the good fortune of connecting with T Morza and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi T, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic/creative career for a couple reasons. One reason I decided to pursue an artistic career is because I have confidence in my talent and creative abilities. I feel I have a sound people would resonate with and I love pushing the boundaries of what could be heard and conceptualized in music. I have always been fascinated with how music effects people, how curtain songs played in curtain circumstances can single handedly bring someone out of a dark place, motivate someone to put on a record breaking performance in sports, or even help someone focus on completing an important task. Because of that fascination I want my music to do that for someone somewhere in this world, The thought that my music can positively impact someone to make change in their life drives me to do this every day.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I’m a 22 year old Hip Hop/RnB artist, producer and audio engineer from the city of Toronto in Canada and i’m excited to change how people view my two primary genres. I love using unorthodox sounds and melodies in my production to put a new spin on what’s normally heard. I’ve had the pleasure of making music for brands like Nike, The Toronto Raptors and Rebook for their ad campaigns I love setting stages ablaze in my area and i’m looking to go abroad and give the world that same energy! I’ve put in countless hours at the studio, pulled multiple all-nighters in the studio, running multiple recording sessions for other local artists in the city just to gain skills and refine my craft to the point where i’d pass out from exhaustion cause I’ve been working too hard. Despite that I loved every second of it because I am a big believer in hard work. I see the improvement and feel the opportunities coming. Through creating music I’ve learned a lot of life lessons as a result of the challenges I have faced. One such lesson is believing in yourself. As an artist it can be hard to find people who support you at and I learned that you have have confidence in yourself or nobody is going to put their confidence and support into you.
In addition to that my message and what I stand for, I believe is truly unique also! As a hip hop/RnB artist there is a lot of common tropes that too often gets talked about like Money, Women, Cars, Luxury, etcetera which is cool but not everybody has that reality. I try to talk about more heavy topics like substance abuse, Anxiety, Loss, Suicide in a digestible enjoyable tone(often times not directly refencing those things), to not only bring attention to these important themes but to ground or counteract peoples increasingly falsified view on reality. A great example of this is my upcoming single “Tomorrow (feat. Vile Murk)” dropping March 26th. This single is an uplifting hip hop record about the possibility of not seeing tomorrow and how important it is to conqueror you demons today & chase your dreams today because not only is tomorrow never promised but procrastination in any form prolongs the pain of today into tomorrow.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Toronto has some amazing spots to catch a vibe! If your a fan of live music, every Tuesday night at a venue in Kensington market called the SUPERMARKET there is this amazingly vibey freestyle music concert called the Big Fam Jam! When I say freestyle music concert I mean it literally, musicians form all over the city come out and perform a concert with no planed set list or order. Everyone with talent is encouraged to hop on stage and sing or play an instrument heck I saw a dude hop up on stage with a little tap dancing routine and the place went nuts! Definitely a dope spot to check out. Of course if you come to the city you gotta check out the CN Tower and Ripley’s aquarium and see what all the tourists are talking about! 2 of the worlds largest underwater tunnels are located at the aquarium and the CN Towers all encompassing view of the city is truly breath taking. Need food? Of course Canada’s most popular city has some of the best spots around. Alo is hands down some of the best restaurants in the city, truly mouth watering food but is a little pricey if you ok with that. Want a breath taking view from a roof top restaurant and bar Lavelle is the place to go dope views even Drake would co-sign, Looking to just take a walk and catch a vibe go to the heart of Downtown and just walk the first couple blocks of Yonge and Dundas and be amazed the bustling city life that surrounds you will make you appreciate your days that much more. The amount of amazing stores and billboards theaters and concert halls almost seem endless in that area of the city so just take a load off and explore!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my mother who is the strongest most compassionate hard working women on the face of the planet she is a huge reason I’m pushing so hard at the moment, I’d also like to shout out my team at Loud Studios, they’re whole mission statement is about unifying my city of Toronto and putting the music above the money or the clout which also motivates me to become successful and shine a greater light on the studios mission.
