We had the good fortune of connecting with Kwame Innis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kwame, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Lowe Imports, LLC was not my brain child, it was the dream of our founder Rayshawn Lowe in 2009. The original intent and purpose of the company was to act as an independent and exclusive distributor of a yet to be introduced cognac into the U.S. market. However, after years of research and soul searching, we ultimately decided to follow our hearts and deep desire to focus on opening the minds, experiences and opportunities through premium cognac offerings. We decided to find the best French cognac producer, master cellar and operations that meet our values, quality expectations, customer focus and our company vision.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After Graduation I worked in the computer industry for a few giants, IBM, Canon USA, and AT&T. in 1994 I joined the Nassau County Police Department where my 22 years of services where full and rewarding. throughout that tenure I embarked on a few entrepreneurial projects, the most recent being a Antique barber chair restoration company that has grown to the largest in the country with 3 locations, New York, Atlanta Georgia and Houston Texas. over the last 15 years we have has the fortunesof being featured in many commercials and movies.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
great question, the Atlanta market has been the biggest surprise in our companies young history. in 2020 at the hight of the covid-19 pandemic Lowe imports was introduced to the state of Georgia,
much to our surprise we where treated with love and support from and welcomed with open arms.
some of the stand out venues and partnerships that have embraced Rayon Cognac XO are The Cigar City Club, Monticello’s, Fellowship, Life & Times, the Humidor, Forks & Flavors, the Gathering Spot, the James room, red phone booth, black Wall Street, and many many others on and off premises locations.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d definitely be remiss if I didn’t mention the vehicle that brought me to Lowe Imports, LLC. The common thread that links me to Mr. Lowe and our Company CEO, Ron Jones is Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
I was introduced to Ron while we where both undergraduates. Im happy to say that 30plus years of brotherhood has lead us to many profitable business endeavors.
