We had the good fortune of connecting with Alan Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alan, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artist career because it was at the age of 5 years old when my mother and father bought me an organ keyboard in which I feel in love with and from there a energy force was created in Macon, Georgia. I watched my belated father, James Davis, perform in a male traveling group and simultaneously I would listen to my mother playing and singing blues songs. So I became a product of their environment.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart and makes me sort of different is that I’m a vocalist, a musician, a producer, a studio engineer, a mastering engineer along with being a metadata edcoder, video editor and a great exciting performer. The way that I got to where I am professionally is because of all the skills that I’ve learned in music over the years and also with a great help of my close friend Willie Morris of “Cameo”. The lessons that I’ve learned along the way is that when something is deep in your heart and deep in your soul and it’s something that you want to do, then strive to do it, don’t listen to the negative words of others because no one can see your vision but yourself. My brand as an artist is that I would love to continue to make music with it’s own style that is exciting, danceable and reconizable to my fans so that when they hear my music they will say “Yeaahhh” – “That’s Al Davis”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends was to visit my area we would go out to a few different lounges hear some live entertaintment. Go to Outback Steakhouse, and places of their choice of what they would like.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I’d like to give special thanks and the Glory to God. Now I’d like to give special thanks to my manager Shaun Fisher (Dj Shaun), The Hilltop Radio Show (The Hottest Radio Show Worldwide). I’d like to give special thanks to Willie Morris (Cameo), the artist Jeter Jones, the artist Jeff Floyd, the artist Nelson (Sugaa Shack) Curry, the artist Mark Lockett and definitely I’d like to give special thanks to my fans, they have been so supportive.
