We had the good fortune of connecting with Chevy & Shades and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chevy & Shades, is there something you believe many others might not?
Two pieces of conventional advice we firmly disagree with is “You’re moving to fast, you need to slow down.” and ” We don’t follow what other members of our car culture would consider tradition.”

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Chevy and Shades, both founders of the car club, Redline, say they started the brand to create a fun legal activity that community members can enjoy. In an introductory video on the brand’s YouTube page, Chevy made it expressly clear that while the car club was accepting members, it would however indulge in zero illegal activity or any sort of reckless display that could be described as disturbing the peace or causing a nuisance.

“We’re not going to do any of that crazy stuff. If you’re one of those folks that love to go to parking lots and burn out tires, run from the police and have helicopters chasing you, then Redline is definitely not for you.”

We started our business two months ago and we’ve kept one word in mind throughout the process, consistency. We take pride in our quality, content, topics, guests, and posting frequency. Was it easy, of course not. We’ve doubters, haters and everything in between to the point where people have said, “No one’s going to work with you.” For us, we don’t give up easy, so we turned those negative statements into positive outcomes, by accepting meaningful critique, networking and continuously learning.

Since starting our podcast we have learned to not take ourselves to seriously, have fun and most importantly remain humble.

We also run a detailing service for comprehensive fixes and servicing, and the couple have revealed that the brand will extend its content to accommodate music, fashion, and much more!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Shades is a big kid, she loves going to SixFlags any chance gets, day or night and no matter the weather. She would also recommend going anywhere that serves great lobster and shrimp pasta. She would recommend hanging out at the mall and visiting her favorite shoe places such as Finish Line, Nike and Footlocker. She is a sneakerhead!

Chevy on the other hand is a fitness guru. He will take you to Stone Mountain, Piedmont Park, and Clayton County International Water Park. He enjoys rock climbing because of the heights and challenges and he still gets a workout.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would love to shoutout our Producer D for believing in our vision and pushing us to succeed. He consistently gives us feedback, works tirelessly editing our shows and works closely with our marketing department to ensure we get phenomenal results! We would also love to shoutout our fans and everyone in the car community for supporting our brand and following our work, because we do it for the culture. Shades would love to give a special shoutout to her parents for motivating her to achieve her goals with their podcast and being avid watchers and promoting the business!
