We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joe, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk Taking. Taking a risk is stepping outside of your comfort zone and testing new obstacles you are not sure of. Positive or Negative, risks will build you as a person and tests your true abilities. For me, a HUGE RISK was opening a business at the beginning of a global pandemic with little to no knowledge of the business world. I didn’t have a plan, I didn’t know where to start, and all I had was an idea in my head that I wanted to see right before my eyes.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business (JustInCase) is all about the hottest and trending designs for AirPods and IPhones. I started my business after a lack of designs and overpriced items were presented throughout my age demographics. One thing I will say that sets me apart from others is simply my business in general. Nowadays you see the same products presented, but it either has a different name or copied from big major companies. Business-wise today, I would say I have definitely learned though trial and error. In the business world, you have to make mistakes or get those negative feedbacks, but it’s always a stepping stone to perfecting it the next time. You have to keep that mindset of one day making it big and it starts with hardships. And it’s not easy. As a business owner, you want to always feel that you have put your best product out there. When the negativity, constant comparison, and non-support is at the forefront, you tend to doubt yourself and think “Is it really worth having a business?” What I want the world to know about me is that I’m a very open minded person and will take criticism and not only apply it to myself, but to my business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were to visit the city, I would take the them to either DownTown Atlanta or Atlantic Station. As a kid growing up in these areas, I feel like they have a lot of inspiration and creative branches that will get people to think of new things. I love looking at the artistic pieces on walls and hear the music of different genres. For me personally, Atlantic Station has a variety of places to tour and shop. Site seeing, clothing stores, and the music environment is something I will always be excited about doing when I was younger.
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my Mother. She has guided me through the ways of the business life, but has allowed me to figure things out on my own. My mom pushes me to think outside the box and find ways of how I want my business to be presented. From the business cards to in-person interactions, the feedback I receive from her are tools I will always keep with me.
