Meet Shernell Carter | Master Cosmetologist, CEO of Sassi N’ Klassi Beauty Bar

The most important factors behind my success is motivation and hardwork. I started in the beauty industry in 2004 while in hair school. I’ve went to hair shows in different states and even participated in competitions. For many years I was always involved in different events in the industry. I even had side gigs as assistant to the hairstylist in photoshoots and runway shows. As time went on I realized that with my Master cosmetology license I wasn’t just isolated with doing hair and that it could open up so many other doors for me. I went through some difficult life changes and realized that I wanted to do something for me so in the middle of a pandemic, I officially opened up my online store Sassi N’ Klassi Beauty Bar 8/2021. The plan was to offer different products in the beauty industry that will make everyone feel beautiful. The most difficult thing for me was that everybody decided to open up a business selling some of the same products so what would make mine so different. Well I did everything by myself watching youtube videos, googling and going through different vendors trying products until I loved it. I’ve been in business 6 months and I market on FB, Instagram and tic tok. I can say that tic tok is the best for me marketing wise. The site is still growing and I’m still adding more products.

I would say that this is my passion so It doesn’t feel like work to me. The first thing I did was started making and selling wigs. A lot of people don’t feel secure or have self esteem issues so I work toward selling products that will enhance their beauty and make them feel beautiful. There is also alot of people that is interested in my products but don’t know the first thing about using or applying them. I’m working toward adding short tutorials on the site in the near future. There will be a lot of great additions and products soon.

I would take my bestfriend to the most popular places in Atlanta. Old Mill Park in Roswell is very nice to site see and because we are selfie queens we would be able to take some great photos. The aquarium and world of coca-cola is tourist sites of Atlanta and then we would enjoy a few restaurants at ponce city market. We will definitely have to end the night enjoying ourselves in “Atlanta nightlife” where I market the most passing out my cards and networking with other business owners.

I want to most definitely give a shoutout to all the women in my family. They have really been my biggest supporters with words of encouragement and even purchasing my products. I even named my most popular lashes after my mom, aunts and sister in law.
