We had the good fortune of connecting with Brent Reno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brent, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
For me it was really simple. I hate having a boss. With photography I pick the projects or jobs I’m interested in. Your clients are your boss, but it’s my business and my rules.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Today I’m proud of the connections I’ve made. I’m a people person and I genuinely cherish all the friends I’ve gotten to know through this process. They encourage me when I’m sad, put the camera back in my hand when I feel like putting it down. It hasn’t been easy. I don’t expect it to get any easier. Aren’t the things we work hardest for the most valuable though?
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So first things we’re going to go to Arabia Mountain. It’s beautiful there and it feels like a whole different world apart from anything else. Afterwards we’ll swing by Duluth for some Korean BBQ at Iron Age. You’ve gotta go with the Brisket, it’s the best. The next day we’ll hit up The Goat Farm Arts Center and do some shooting followed up with a trip to Little 5 for some Pizza.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The People of the Atlanta Photography Scene. I’ve had do many people guide and help me that there’s no time to single out individuals. I am a product of years of experience and learning from a large group of people. Big shout out to The Atlanta Photographers Guild and Collab ATL though for all the support and mentorship as well as making my many amazing friends in the industry.
