We had the good fortune of connecting with Cici and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cici, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote that I have always lived by is actually a quote from Nelly 1st studio album “Country Grammar”. Never let ‘Em See you Sweat. When I was younger my older brother use to tell me this as a defense mechanism while I was in school and if I was to be made fun of or get into a lot altercation. But ironically, it helped in my adulthood too. The worse thing you can do is allow yourself to be seen bothered by those trying to tear you down. Society and especially social media only lives and feed off of negativity. If you give them that or feed into it, than you are only allowing them to win. It’s helped me through so much and has kept a lot of drama out from my life and as I build my brand and my show, it has help me take criticism and reapply it in a positive way to move me up to become stronger mentally. Which helps my brand grow and expand to hopefully becoming a household name.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m the first in my city to do what I’m doing. When I thought back to doing something like this my whole mind frame was I can’t do it. I will never be who I admire. The motivation that came from my kids and my friends is what made me want to keep going. There’s so much talent in the small backyard of this city that I just wanted to be that platform for others to come and show off their talent for others to want to be apart of. Personally I’m proud of what I have achieved so far and the small name I have made for me here. I’ve been married, divorced, homeless, and more and still through all that I still have always made a way to see my dream first. Trying to chase your dreams be a mom and keep your sanity isnt the easiest thing in life. But when you look back on everything you have been through, it’s a journey that you finally understand. It shows how strong you can really be and shows your kids what a super mom is. I love my story because it made me grow as a person. I had to learn to say no. Learn to be serious about my word not only to myself but to others. That’s why I’m Open Book with Cici. I have no problem showing my truth. The good, bad, and the ugly.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The craziest thing about my city is that it’s a small town with too many restaurants to name. Unless there is an event of some sort going on that weekend there’s not much to say about it. I love the Mexican food here and I love the people I have grown up to know.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are a few people I would love to give recognition to. Always first and foremost God. Without him nothing is possible. Then of course my parents. No matter the idea they have always been there for me to help me when I need it. My best friends Brittney, Kayla, Spechial, Yessi, and Chrystal. Honestly these woman have encouraged and pushed me to keep going throughout the years. In the midst of doing things on your own it’s easy to want to give up and be like forget it. Not with friends like these. There’s no such thing as giving up. And last but not least, My kids who want nothing more than to see their mom be the next breakfast club radio celebrity.
A special shout out to Chasity Enticing. This woman has taken a chance on me. Believing my dream and going out of her comfort zone to watch me fulfill my dreams.
