We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison & Corey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allison & Corey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Corey: Consistency has been the most important factor behind our business’ success today. Since quitting my job in August of 2020, I have dedicated myself to making sure that we maintain a level of consistency when it comes to creating content and generating revenue. There have been times when the overall market has been slow, but we use that as an opportunity to be more creative about our approach.

Allison: The most important thing in growing our business into what it is today, has been our relatability. Being able to connect with people on a deeper level than just selling shoes has allowed us to gain loyal customers. It honestly takes some of the load off of us, since half of our “marketing” comes from word of mouth. Once you develop trust with your customers, they will make sure you are taken care of as well.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Allison: When we came into the sneaker industry, it started more as a passion rather than a career choice. Once we started actually selling shoes, it only felt natural to incorporate photography, which was always another interest of ours. It was definitely challenging to teach ourselves the different aspects of product photography, and different marketing techniques to really elevate our page, and make it stand out from what was already online. We’ve just had to learn to never stop trying new techniques for customer outreach; the same way the world evolves, is the same way business owners have to keep up with ever-changing customer interests. And in the fashion industry, it is not enough to just own something and sell it. You have to make sure your product looks appealing, but the definition of “appealing” changes every day.

Corey: I am most excited about the “Customer Incentive Program” that we are implementing as a part of our new business routine. This program grants all of our customers a discount every 6th purchase. With the addition of this program, CAFlipz plans on providing customer retention & longevity as an up and coming brand. Building a customer base big enough to allow us to implement this program was very tough to do. To generate more customer interaction, we began running raffles for high ticket shoes at a discounted price. We took a risk in restructuring how normal raffles are run by offering incentives for people to share our page and spread the word. Over time, with the consistent interactions from raffles and instagram polls, we’ve been able to better understand our customers biggest wants and needs within the sneaker industry. I want the world to know that our brand is here to stay, and that we are fueled by our passion for sneakers & taking care of those who have supported us.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Corey & Allison: For about 2 years now we have lived in the city, so of course, we would take our friend to midtown for all the entertainment! We would go to The Painted Pin for bowling and games. That would be after spending the day at Piedmont Park relaxing, and visiting the beltline. For food, we would go to a brazilian steakhouse named Fogo de Chao for dinner, and for brunch we would hit Roc South. For an amazing view of the city and good drinks, we would also make a stop at SkyLounge. Little Five Points would be one of our last stops. They have several vintage shops and sneaker boutiques that would surely spike the interest of our friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Corey: This has been an amazing journey thus far, and without question I have to shout out my parents & my sister for their support during my transition to running the business full-time. Also, a shout out to our amazing team of friends, from a group we have formed, called “The Justice League”. The amount of hustlers in this group have helped push us to grow in ways we have not expected, not just in business but in life also. Lastly, I want to shout out my girlfriend & business partner, Allison. Without her, a lot of what has been achieved thus far wouldn’t have been possible.

Allison: Since starting our business, no one has been here for me like my family has been. I would like to dedicate this shout-out to them. Not only have they always been willing to help, but they have also developed an interest in the industry we work in, constantly asking how they can assist in helping us expand our business ventures. I would also like to thank our friends from Justice League for introducing us to new things like cryptocurrency, stocks, and other forms of passive income. Of course, my business/life partner, Corey, who shows me every day that I can pursue a career in any industry I would like. And lastly, I would like to thank my high school counselor, Mrs. Johnson, who till this day, supports me in every aspect of my life. Thank you for always encouraging me to pursue my dreams, and being there for me every step of the way.
