Meet Roro Williams | Wig maker & Online retailer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Roro Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Roro, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I remember getting out the Navy and the 1st thing I thought was “ I want to do my hair in all the styles and colors I wasn’t allowed to). I was stationed in Bremerton Wa, where salons and hair products for kinky/curly hair were hard to come by, which made the prices for these products/services super expensive. I decided to purchase the products at wholesale price and do my hair myself in order to save money. I was so satisfied with my end results and got the bright idea💡of meeting the demand that I knew existed in the community. This is what lead to me getting an LLC and starting a online hair business.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets my business apart from the rest is the uniqueness of my products and my business as a whole. I thrive to express myself through my business, this is why we now offer custom wigs that are ready to wear out the box. I generally hate doing my hair and I just knew I wasn’t the only one feeling this way. So I’m happy to provide a product that is helpful not only to me but also to my customers. What I’m most proud of is the progress that my business have made since I’ve started in 2019. I remember my 1st year in business being horrible, so I never thought I would be even making any real profit because I felt my business was stagnant and wouldn’t make it to the 2nd year. Now in my 2nd year my business is making 5 figures a year and still growing. This journey was not easy, I had to be super self reliant and resourceful especially in times where I felt defeated. The biggest lesson I’ve learnt in business is, do your research before indulging in anything. Don’t be quick to pay someone to do a job that you can simply do for yourself for free.
What I want the world to know about my brand is, that we are constantly growing and hope to expand into uncharted territory like beauty vending machine business. My prediction for my business is to make our products more available to customers. We hope that in the next year we will established a physical location in a mall, or Walmart in a community near you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a home body especially since the pandemic started. If I had a friend visiting I would definitely take them to a food environment like Breakfast at Barney’s to try out their 24 karat gold pancakes, so they could experience something new and different. Also going to a game at the Mercedes stadium is a must! I also love Top Golf trap museum because you can play golf, eat and drink all in one place, that place is such a vibe.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will definitely say that my success was driven by the stern leadership I had while I was in the Navy. The constant bossing around, made me realize that I don’t ever want to be in a position where I’m working for someone else. It’s been a constant motivation. Also the drive and work ethic that the military instilled in me have definitely influenced who I am today. So my shoutout definitely goes out to every one I’ve encountered while serving, the good, the bad and the ugly.
