We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesslyn Rollins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesslyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When my mom was going through breast cancer, she could not keep up with her Chemotherapy treatments without getting IV’s beforehand. My family was trying everything – sports drinks, children’s rehydration products, electrolyte powders – and nothing was keeping her healthy and hydrated enough for her treatments. My Dad, an Anesthesiologist and Pain Specialist, has years of experience tailoring his patients IV bags with nutritional supplementation to help them feel better. My sister, Sarah, came up with the idea to create a product that would bring the IV bag home to people when and where they needed it most, and my Dad had the experience and knowledge to do so. That’s how BIOLYTE was born.
I only stepped into the picture when 4 pallets of BIOLYTE arrived in my family’s home in Atlanta. I personally tried the product, and it worked really well for me so I was focused on getting other people’s – specifically high school Athletic Trainers – opinions. Their feedback was so overwhelmingly positive that I then focused my sights on getting into retailers. One thing lead to another and today we are in close to 10,000 locations
What drove me in the beginning was the idea of working with my family – that was really cool to me. Then the product was phenomenal, and our customer feedback propelled me forward.
What should our readers know about your business?
BIOLYTE, the IV in a bottle, is the first liquid supplement that offers the same benefits of IV rehydration therapy, but in a drinkable form. Our founder, Dr. Rollins, wanted to create a product that would bring the IV bag home to his wife when she was going through breast cancer. He used his experience in the hospital tailoring IV bags to his patients needs, to create BIOLYTE®, the first IV in a bottle.
Just one bottle of BIOLYTE has the same amount of electrolytes as an IV bag plus natural ingredients that boost energy, ease stomach illness, and reduce muscle cramps.
We’ve created an amazing product that does a lot of good. If someone is past their breaking point – whether they have had too much sun exposure, become really dehydrated, over-exercised, or come down with a stomach illness – our product can work wonders. What we are trying to do is “bring the IV bag home to people who need it most.” That hasn’t been done before. It’s through this creative, out of the box approach that I believe we are on our way to making a massive impact on people’s health.
What I’m personally most excited about is growing our people alongside the growing our company. I work with such incredible, talented people, and I can’t wait to see who we are 5 years from now.
But growth is never easy. The challenges that I’m facing as I’m getting older are only getting more complicated and more out of my realm of knowledge. I have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable – recognizing what I don’t know and going to search for the answers. If I don’t, I’ll put a lid on BIOLYTE’s full potential. And I refuse to do that. Learning and growing is my only option!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Ah! Makes me giddy just thinking about it.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Gosh, if I had the time, I would thank every single one of my teammates that are in BIOLYTE today. Their talents and skill sets have all contributed to our success.
But the person that I’ll choose to call out today is going to be Jason Miller, BIOLYTE’s now VP of Sales.
Jason is what we call the “Gas” in our company. When he first started with us back in late 2019, we were in 3 major chains and had 3 distributor partners. I honestly had no business talking to Jason – he had 25 years of beverage experience and I was still working from my dining room table. However, he saw major promise in the brand and wanted to take a chance on us.
Because of his dedication, we are now in close to 10 chains and we have cose to 25 distributor partners. He fully embodies BIOLYTE’s Core Value, High Performance and makes the entire team, including me, push harder to achieve all that we can together. He is the driving force behind why BIOLYTE is in the position we are today.
