We had the good fortune of connecting with Krissy Meriwether and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Krissy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was never on my radar. It was never something that I thought about or wanted for myself. My background and previous career is in early childhood education. After teaching for several years, I really wanted to find something that had more flexibility and was something I could do from home on my own time. I had looked into this when my children were born, 15 years ago, and never found anything outside of MLM’s or filling out reviews online.
A little over two years ago, I was listening to a podcast interview with a mom who had left her teaching career to start a freelancing business as a virtual assistant. My interest was peaked! She had created a course that I ended up purchasing. It walked me through how to set up my own business and find clients through Facebook groups. I began that process and while working through the course, another member had created a podcast management course. That felt like total alignment since I loved podcasts. What a fun job to help edit and manage podcasts. I purchased that course and the rest is history!
I ended up creating my podcast management business and have been working with clients to help them launch and manage their podcasts ever since. It is really amazing how much opportunity there is to create a business with flexibility in the online space- all while helping to support other entrepreneurs and businesses.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I help coaches and course creators launch and manage their podcasts. My goal is to take the editing and managing of their podcast (that can be so time consuming!) off their plate so they can focus on the content and recording of their episodes. I am super excited about the growth of podcasts and how many more people are finding podcasts that can entertain, encourage, and educate them. I love seeing how podcasts can really support businesses who are selling services and products. You don’t have to be a celebrity and have thousands of downloads to have a successful podcast. I love getting to help coaches and course creators figure out how they can use their podcast to build relationships, establish authority, and bring in leads for their business.

Starting this business has not been easy- it has been a roller coaster full of ups and downs. My online business friends who have been in the same boat have really helped me when times were tough. I think the biggest lesson that I have learned throughout this journey is how important your mindset is. It is in everything you do and if you are going to make it, you have to have a strong mindset that is always focused on the big WHY- why you started your business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here are some places we would visit: The Varsity,
Drinks/dinner at Park Tavern and visiting Piedmont Park
Botanical Gardens
Take in Braves game at Truist and have dinner at Antico Pizza in the Battery,
Dinner and window shopping in Buckhead Village
The Georgia Aquarium and Coke Museum

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Micala Quinn for her Overwhelmed to Overbooked freelancing course, Lauren Wrighton for her Podcast Manager Program course, Helen Ngo for recommending me for this interview, and my husband, Addison, for his unwavering support
