We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Ollinger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“The Sphinx must solve her own riddle. If the whole of history is in one man, it is all to be explained from individual experience.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
This passage has resonated with me since I used it as my Senior yearbook quote in 1990. It rings true for every stage in my life, reminding me we all have our own path to follow, our own unique search for meaning and connectivity in our lives. And that we are all one in humankind even if our journeys are different.
What should our readers know about your business?
Sidecar is inspired by my friendship of 20 plus years with my co-founder, Carley Faircloth. When she was in treatment for cancer, I promised that, if she made it through, we would bring her vision of what is now The Sidecar OG to life. She is now in remission and The Sidecar OG is a reality!
Our debut accessory marries high quality and style with function to solve your hat and “bauble” carrying struggles***. Additional Sidecar companion products are coming soon and will have the same attention to high quality, detail and utility.
It took two and a half years to get the patented design and functionality just right. We met the sourcing challenges by putting one foot in front of the other, supporting one another and just not not giving up. So many challenges—many expected, many more unexpected—arise in the process of bringing a new product to market. People and manufacturers telling us it just can’t look and function the way we want. But we knew we could do it, kept moving forward, and we could not be more proud of Sidecar OG!
Sidecar is a 24 karat gold plated and patented clip with premium leathers and hardware designed to carry your hat and baubles stylishly and hands- free. Our brand was born out of friendship and we are committed to promoting human connection, friendship, and support. Sidecar product/s makes it easy to get out there, to explore, and to create life-enriching memories.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents, Sue and Steve Sidles. Hands down the foundation they gave me growing up was a springboard to having the confidence, courage and resilience to open up another chapter of my life, Sidecar, at 48 years old. They are loyal, opinionated, fun, disciplined and my biggest fans, no matter what. That is quite something to grow up and know you have that stability to fall back on.
