Meet Martia Phifer | Event Planner, Decorator and Caterer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Martia Phifer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Martia, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
Me starting Touch Of Class created the freedom I needed to be a mother. I was tired of missing school plays, sports events and conferences because of being stuck at a job. Once i built up my clientele i decided to go full force for my business so i could be a present parent.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a self taught Event coordinator, decorator and caterer. My business thrives because I am a one stop shop for all of your event planning needs. From the invite to the final set up, to the food, Touch of Class handles it all!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The Octave downtown Youngstown is my favorite spot at the moment. Has such a great atmosphere and vibe, wonderful food and great staff.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
my number one shoutout is God. He has never left me throughout this entire process, and just when i feel like its too much he gives me the strength to keep going! Touch of Class would be nothing without God’s grace and mercy.
