We had the good fortune of connecting with Farjana khalil and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Farjana, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
My name is Farjana Khalil, and I’m from Atlanta, Ga my parents and background ethnicity is Bangladesh I am bengali south asian american 1st generation.

I live on my own as a digital nomad as of now in between the cities of atlanta, ga and new york city / dmv and occasionally la / west coast for events or gigs and business opportunities. My background and upbringing I’ve always been a proud brown desi women. I’ve always enjoyed the modern culture and my own. Beginning with the music, dressing up in cultural clothing, the community of family and friends I’ve grown up with to hosting dinner parties and holidays / cultural events from time to time and family summer vacations. My upbringing and how it impacted who I am today, has been the balance of living a double life and not being able to be who I truly am due to culture and judgement from community and family or friends.

It was always hard for me growing up when it came to little things like getting a phone I got one at 18 meanwhile other kids had one earlier my age, doing my makeup dressing up wearing what I liked wasn’t an option, and other factors that were involved but I didn’t understand at the time, now as an adult in my late 20’s I understand because we are constantly changing growing evolving and etc. I am spiritual and close to god as I want to be as I get older and older. If it wasn’t for those hard times, and challenges I wouldn’t have had the guts to move out at 25 and be on my own past 2 years travel work from home start businesses and a nonprofit for mental health and try to give back / help others on social media and other ways. I am proud of the women I am becoming I am now fearless, confident, a leader, and constantly working on myself to help others and meet new people and connect with one another. I want to share my stories and inspire people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have 5+ businesses and live on my own for the past two years!

First comes who am I? What’s my identity, goals, dream, purpose in life, and why am I here? I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA from the Gwinnett area and moved out at mid 20’s took a risk and never regretted it. In my culture, and community living on your own isn’t normalized, being independent, and living on your own without being married. I am here to break generational curses, as I still live a life of my own and a life within the community of the Bengali world and culture I embrace where I am today, and living a double life. At the end of the day, this means “We gotta do what we gotta do.” LOL, but yes!

My goal in life is to mainly first create passive income within my businesses that I started in Atlanta, GA mainly being 1. Photography and videography / creating short films / being a filmmaker 2. Content creating within lifestyle content of travel, food, fashion/style, and exploration 3. Networking and the world of investing/finance I have my own online digital business where we network and teach people how to invest and create passive income within the investment, finance, and trading world that is 7+ different areas. 4. I have a nonprofit which is more so guided towards giving back to the community and helping others in areas of communities for all but my nonprofit focuses on the South Asian communities to support women and their independence as well as mental health for men and women since it’s a stigma in our community.

My goal here is to raise awareness on social media as for now and create a foundation in the future and scholarships to support all aspects of education, mental health, independence, homes for kids, schools to build, foundations to raise money for causes in climate change, environmental changes, animal shelters, homeless shelters, prayer homes and global warming.

Lastly, my business on social media mainly 5th business being consulting for others, teaching them how to make content, edit videos, and etc we are in a world of technology, ai, and online income which was never seen before till the past decade of growth we have seen. I have a social media agency as well to help influencers grow their pages and socials this all ties into consulting, and communications and marketing for clients.

My dream is to pay off all my debt, retire my family/parents, build good credit/finance/ savings/investments & properties and help my cousins and brother and the community of friends I have, and mainly here to do what god sent me here to do is to help others that are deserving, in need, and be kind. We aren’t perfect, we all are human, we all have emotions, and needs. I have grown up very harshly, tons of bullying, harassment, community hate and no support, no family support, no social support in my social media, hobbies, and businesses. I might do a lot and have a lot of pages for different niches in social media, Pinterest, youtube, Instagram, clapper, Tik-Tok, and etc but I still show up daily, do my daily routine, do the work, and maintain balance which is key.

I work on my businesses and social media 5am-8am, then do my 9-5 and then my second side hustle and gym / cook / clean and chores evening / late nights weekdays and weekends focusing on self-care, rest, business activities, travel, exploring, and anything else I need to refocus on. I work remote and in the comfort of my own home. I have lived for one year in Baltimore, Maryland DMV exploring up north and NJ and NYC while traveling to Atlanta, Ga every month to see my family, friends and celebrate cultural / religious holidays as well every month. Now, I live in New York City, my dream city since childhood to live here and do all my hobbies, side hustles, and businesses / network & meet new people. Today, I am living my childhood dream which took me ten years to get here.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am the best content creator and planner when it comes to trips and itenary me and my best friend actually just did new york city and west coast together.

I want to plan an international trip for me and her I never been international visiting and traveling alone always with family so I’d take her and we’d go to Europe for a few months.

I want to take us to France, Italy, London, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, and all of europe then south america then go to dubai and india / bangladesh then go to Thailand, Bali, Singapore, Japan, and end it with Jamaica and Cancun world tour.

I have the ability to meet people in any city, and connect with anyone and any city. I have a powerful ability to do everything alone but I also have an extrovert personality when it comes with business, and creativity. I moved from Atl to Maryland To New York and traveled alone as well. I met so many new people in each city I have friends and connects and I continue to do so because your Network is your Net Worth. You never know who you meet and can benefit and add value to each other’s lives.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out Divya Kalia, In life you need one person to always say yes, help you, show you the light and guide you. She’s always been my best friend in our long distance friendship of 10+ years we’ve had ups and downs and grown together and she’s my person. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have had the push to continue what I do or find ways to work on my businesses and creative projects. She’s an older sister to me and I love her she’s basically my twin flame and we are literally the same in so many ways aligned in life events and it’s wild.

She deserves so much credit, she’s talented and beautiful and together we’re such a powerful duo my failures and success she’s been there and never ever said no to helping me she was my PA in all of my businesses as well, and we work together on projects. My success that is coming for me is just as much as hers. I can’t wait till we both make it and do amazing things together.
