We had the good fortune of connecting with Emondre Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emondre, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks plays a huge role in my life. I think taking risk is needed in most cases when it comes to you chasing your dreams. For me, I’d rather not have that “what if I did it” thought after not taking the risk.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is different within itself. With each photoshoot or videoshoot I try to do something different. This allows me to be creative with what I have in front of me and learn something new while doing it. I’m always trying out new ways to capture my subject. I am most proud of my growth since I started and I’m excited with each shoot. I got to where I am today by staying consistent, networking, and continuously rebranding. A lesson that I learned is to be business savvy with each client & stick to my prices. Some people feel entitled to put a price on your work and you as a creative can’t let that happen. Everything that I went through during my journey, I learned something from it. I honestly just want to continue to be different, put out content that I am happy with and have my work tell the viewer one thousand words.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was to take my bestfriend somewhere I would go to JJ’s Fish and Chicken to eat something fast. I like to be outdoors so I’d then go to the botanical gardens, paddle boating, and just peruse the city to site see. We would go to maybe the Georgia Aquarium and end the day at Sun Dial Restaurant.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate my shoutout to local non-profit, Champions Way staff.
