We had the good fortune of connecting with Danyelle Aguirre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danyelle, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking risks is a central theme in my life, especially as a divorced mom and entrepreneur. Moving over 1,200 miles with seven kids after my divorce was a huge leap of faith. While I knew deep down that it was a necessary step to create the life I envisioned for my family, it was still very uncomfortable and new. Starting a psychic tarot business was risky, it is not the most conventional path for a mom to seven (now eight) to take. However, I used my intuition to turn something I’m passionate about into something meaningful.

Taking risks has taught me that growth happens outside of your comfort zone. While scary, each time I faced uncertainty, I found my strength, resilience, and the clarity needed to succeed. My journey is a testament to the idea that sometimes, the greatest rewards come when you’re willing to take that bold step into the unknown. It’s not always easy, but the risks I’ve taken have brought me to a place of independence, fulfillment, and a life that feels authentic to who I am, which brings me peace.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is deeply rooted in intuition, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others find clarity through healing. With my unique blend of life experiences and the energy I bring to each session, I am able to connect on a deeper level of understanding, helping you uncover your unseen.

I’m proud of the space I’ve created where people feel safe, understood, and empowered to embrace their own journeys. Professionally, there were times when I faced doubt, financial challenges, and the uncertainty that comes with starting something new. However, my children’s unwavering belief in me pushed me forward. They reminded me that every challenge was an opportunity to grow and redefine my path.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that authenticity is key. When you show up as your true self, the right people will be drawn to you. I want the world to know that my brand is not just about tarot readings or Reiki sessions; it’s about helping people discover their inner strength, heal from past wounds, and step into their true power. My story is one of transformation, courage, and a deep commitment to serving others with my gifts.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If one of my best friend’s was visiting Richmond, Virginia, I’d start by immersing them in the city’s rich history and culture. We’d visit spots like the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), or take a ghost tour downtown to get a feel for the city’s past. A stroll through Carytown would be essential for its trendy boutiques, quirky shops, and local flavor. For outdoor adventure, the James River Park System offers kayaking, paddleboarding, and hiking, while the serene Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Maymont provide beautiful spaces to relax and explore nature.

The food scene in Richmond is diverse and vibrant, offering something for every palate. We’d start mornings with breakfast at Liberty Public House, and enjoy dinners at top spots like ML Steakhouse, L’Opossum for French-inspired cuisine, Julep’s New Southern Cuisine for Southern classics, or Lehja for award-winning Indian flavors. For a more casual experience with water views, The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing is a must, or take a drive to Virginia Beach for a panoramic view of the Atlantic at Orion’s Roof. We then end the evening with drinks at cozy bars like The Jasper, Kabana the rooftop lounge, or shopping small businesses at Selden Market.

To experience Richmond’s nightlife and entertainment, we’d check out live music at The Camel, catch a dance party at the TapHouse, or somewhere in Shockoe Bottom near Carytown. Or visit the city’s vibrant craft beer and cider scene, including stops at The Veil Brewing Co., Blue Bee Cider, or Garage Brewery in Chesapeake, all a perfect way to toast to an unforgettable week exploring some of the best Virginia has to offer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would be dedicated to my children. They have been my biggest supporters and have always believed in me, even when the path was uncertain. Their unwavering faith and love gave me the strength to pursue my dreams, no matter how daunting they seemed. Every time I doubted myself or faced a challenge, they reminded me that I was capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. They deserve all the credit for being my inspiration, my motivation, and my greatest cheerleaders on this journey. Without them and my spiritual connection, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
