We had the good fortune of connecting with Caitlin Cesar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caitlin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In the beginning, I never sought out to start my own business, I just wanted to document my fitness journey. As people started taking interest to my page and workouts, they began asking me to train them. I started doing it for fun in college, but as I was transitioning into the world post grad, I noticed that was something I could see myself doing long term. 8 months later, I began to get certified and turn my instagram page Crunchedbycait into my personal business and brand, adding my new activewear clothing line, Crunched Athletics, to the mix.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am very proud of how much I have accomplished in my first 9 months of business. Within my own personal fitness journey and building my own 2 brands, I have come so far from the lost college student I was at the beginning of the year. Owning a business presents new unforeseen challenges everyday, and I am no where close to where I want to be today, but each day I am learning to take it one day at a time. One week you can be all the way up, and the next, it could all be down, but the reward is in sticking with it and letting yourself truly experience every stage there is. I want the world to know that this black owned business will only get bigger by the day, so you might as well remember the name now.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m not much of a social butterfly myself, so I am not sure of the best places in town, but I do like to EAT. I love exploring new restaurants around Atlanta, so I would hop on Tiktok and find a new place to explore.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
All my clients deserve this shoutout. They have all helped me build my brand and provide me the opportunity to live out my passion. I truly believe they inspire me more than I inspire them. Their opinions and encouragement also played a big part in the creation of my clothing brand, Crunched Athletics. Last, my friend Jessica deserves a huge shoutout. She is another personal trainer turned great friend that has helped change my life.
