We had the good fortune of connecting with Antonio Curry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antonio, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
The simple answer would be whether your service, product, or content is profitable or not. To dig deeper, giving up shouldn’t be an option, you are always one conversation, one social media post share, one customer, one viewer away from a break through. I started Own Your LegaSEE with the mentality of whether I have 1 million customers or zero, that I would continue and at the very leastdde have clothing to call my own designed by me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an environmental Inspector in the oil and gas industry. Although the salary is favorable, what sets me apart from others is that I’m not content with a good salary and career alone, and that’s why I create. I began my professional career with an unexpected opportunity presented by a friend and teammate that I met in college. It was a difficult decision to make because I was 1 semester away from graduating college. Ultimately I had to think of what opportunities that my particular college degree would immediately present versus what opportunities this new career path could immediately present. I know I made the correct decision and wouldn’t change it even if I could. I’ve learned to live for myself and my future instead of living for others and what they believe are the right decisions to make. I want the world to know that Own Your LegaSEE is an empowerment and cultural brand and I’m perfectly fine with the challenges and blockages that come with presenting an empowerment based brand to the world. I am just getting started, becoming comfortable and meeting new people in the apparel industry, so I’m excited about what’s to come in the future from Own Your LegaSEE.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live near Charleston SC and there is plenty to do. For a week long trip we would reserve an Air BNB or beach house so we will have direct and immediate access to the Beach. I love to grill so we will eat in for a few days of the vacation. For night life we can hangout at Vibes Lounge and Posh Lounge where the vibe and music (including live music) is great. We will visit the Gullah Geechi and other black owned restaurants in the area and appreciate the Geechi Culture here in Charleston. Lastly we would visit Downtown Charleston where we could shop if needed/wanted Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
